OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City held off a pesky Southwestern Christian squad for a doubleheader sweep on Friday, winning 10-5 and 6-3.

Peyton Barrow had a great day all-around with four doubles and four RBIs in the first game and pair of outfield assists on the day.

th win and 30
th conference win in the twinbill.

After surrendering a first-inning run, OCU scored two in the home half on a two-run double by Barrow.

The Stars scored six times in the third on an RBI double by Barrow, a squeeze bunt by
Jessica Phares, RBI singles by
Kaiden Spidell,
Carlee Mollet and
Hadley Gibson and a theft of home by Mollet.

Gibson added an RBI ground out in the fifth and Barrow doubled in a run in the sixth.

Brynlee Alsip got the pitching win, going five innings.

The Stars had 12 hits: four by Barrow and two each by Gibson, Spidell and Mollet.

As in the first game, SCU scored to take a 1-0 lead in the first but again OCU took a 2-1 lead in the home half, this time on a two-run single by
Tara Hoehner.

The Eagles tied the game in third but OCU answered with three runs in the fourth on RBI singles by Gibson and Hoehner and an RBI ground out by
Iliana Ashford.

Hoehner drove in a run in the sixth to make it 6-2.

SCU got a run and loaded the bases with no outs before Alsip came in to get the save.
Gabby Moreno had an unassisted double play at first base to quell the rally.

Hoehner and Barrow also turned in huge defensive plays, gunning runners out at home from left and right, respectively.

The Stars had 10 hits in the game, led by Gibson, Ashford and Hoehner with two each.

The teams finish the series with a noon doubleheader on Saturday.
