Stars Drop Two at USAO

CHICKASHA – Oklahoma City lost for the first time in Sooner Athletic Conference softball action this season with a pair of losses, 9-2 and 10-0, at USAO on Friday.
 
The Stars made six errors leading to 16 unearned runs.
 
USAO 9, OCU 2
 
The Stars scored their only runs of the day with back-to-back home runs by Iliana Ashford and Tara Hoehner in the fourth inning.
 
OCU had seven hits, led by Hoehner at four-for-four and Ashford with two.
 
Brynlee Alsip allowed six unearned runs in taking the loss.
 
USAO 10, OCU 0
 
Oklahoma City broke up the USAO no-hitter in the fifth inning with singles by Jessica Phares and Peyton Barrow.
 
Morgandee Sawatzky took her first pitching loss of the season.
 
The teams finish the series with a doubleheader at noon on Saturday.
