Previously: Second-ranked Oklahoma City completed the series sweep of Mid-America Christian on Friday with a pair of complete-game shutouts, 4-0 and 7-0.
Brynlee Alsip (22-2) andÂ
Morgandee Sawatzky (7-0) each pitched seven scoreless innings to stretch the Stars' scoreless inning streak to 16 innings.
Carlee Mollett made big plays all day with a couple of diving catches and doubled off a runner in the opener.
Â
SAC Look-in: OCU and USAO have clinched the top two seeds in the Sooner Athletic Conference, but the fight this weekend will determine who has the top seed. If either team takes the series (3-1 or 4-0), they have a solid shot at the outright title. A two-two split leaves OCU, depending on the outcomes at Langston on Wednesday, with a two-game lead in the standings with four games remaining. OCU can lock in the outright title with a series win. Langston is playing for a spot in the tournament. Currently in eighth, LU can put enough distance between itself and ninth-place Central Christian to clinch this week. If not, the Lions will have to win their spot by going head-to-head with Central Christian in the final series next weekend.
