OKLAHOMA CITY – Third-ranked Oklahoma City posted 25 runs in its Sooner Athletic Conference opening doubleheader on Sunday, topping Wayland Baptist 16-1 and 9-0.

Tara Hoehner and
Analise Rayburn combined for 10 RBIs in the opener. Rayburn and
Kindalyn Miller launched two home runs each and Hoehner added one.
The Stars took a 1-0 lead in the first when
Hadley Gibson stole home on a double steal.
OCU then posted back-to-back six-run innings in the second and third.
In the second, Miller scored all the way from second on a sacrifice fly by
Kaiden Spidell for a 2-0 lead. Gibson followed with an RBI double and
Iliana Ashford added an RBI single. Hoehner hit a two-run home run and Rayburn made it back-to-back round-trippers for the 7-0 lead.
Miller had a solo home run in the third, Hoehner drove in three with a base hit and Rayburn added a two-run home run to push the lead to 13-0.
Miller got her second home run in the fourth, followed by a forced-in run when Hoehner was hit by a pitch and an RBI single by Rayburn.
Brynlee Alsip got the win in the circle to move to 7-2.
OCU had 16 hits with Rayburn and Miller getting three each. Gibson, Ashford, Hoehner and
Carlee Mollet had two each.

Rayburn got the scoring going in the first inning with an RBI double.
Kaiden Spidell added a two-run home run and Ashford added a two-run double for a 5-0 lead in the second inning.
In the fourth, Gibson and Hoehner had RBI doubles with Ashford scoring from third when the dust cleared from Hoehner's double. Miller added an RBI ground out for the final 9-0 margin.
Miller (6-1) went the distance in the circle, holding the Pioneers to an infield single.
OCU had nine hits in the game with Hoehner and Gibson getting two each.
The teams meet for a noon doubleheader on Monday to finish the series.
