GOODWELL – Oklahoma City used a nine-run third inning to cruise to a 16-4 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday, taking the series two games to one.

Panhandle spotted the Stars a three-run lead with a dropped fly ball with bases loaded in the first inning.

OCU got its nine in the third on a pair bases-loaded walks by
Will Ellis, an RBI single by
Brittain Brewer, a three-run triple by
Jack Johnson, an RBI grounder by
Heath Brown, an RBI fielder's choice by
Trent Baker and an RBI single by
Wyatt Pace.

The Stars added four more in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Baker, a two-run double by Pace and a wild pitch.

OCU had 10 hits, including two each by
Clayton Allen, Baker and Pace.

Baker (2-2) got the pitching win with six strikeouts in four innings.
Cole Sedgwick and
Tanner McAdoo each contributed a scoreless inning of relief.
