Okla.City Sweeps SCU Friday

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Stars collected another Sooner Athletic Conference series win Friday with a doubleheader sweep against the Southwestern Christian University Eagles at Dolese Park.

The Stars used a crooked number in the third inning to hold onto a marginal lead en route to a win in game one of Friday's doubleheader. Extra-base hits were vital in driving in runs for the OCU offense. Clayton Allen connected on an RBI double; later in the inning, Aiden Van Rensum put a charge into a three-run home run

After the Van Rensum long ball, the Stars and Eagles were tied at four runs apiece.

Eli Hill scored on a ball hit to the pitcher by Heath Brown, giving the Stars a 5-4 advantage. One batter later, Aiden Alexander recorded a sacrifice fly to add an insurance run for Oklahoma City.

However, SCU drew within one run with a fourth-inning run of their own. Cayden Maxwell neutralized the remaining threat and proceeded to keep SCU off the board for the remaining three innings.

Maxwell pitched a complete game for OCU and secured his second win of 2026.

In game two, SCU and OCU needed extra innings to decide a winner. After the Stars took a 2-0 lead in the opening frame, the Eagles tied the game in the fifth inning at 3-3. OCU then jumped back in front by a run in the top of the tenth inning when Van Rensum connected on an RBI double to center field. Wyatt Pace followed the double with a single, scoring Allen and tacking onto the Stars' lead.

Bauer Brittain pitched the first five innings and struck out seven SCU hitters before handing the ball over to Dalton Campbell out of the bullpen. Campbell also pitched five innings. The two OCU arms struck out 15 Eagles during game two. Campbell is now 3-2 on the year after earning the win.

OCU and SCU will conclude their series tomorrow with a nine-inning game starting at noon CST. Next week, OCU will host the first-place Texas Wesleyan University Rams.
