#4 Men's Golf Ray Fink

Stars Second at Texas Invite

PROSPER, Texas – Fourth-ranked Oklahoma City battled fierce conditions and finished second in the Texas Invite on Tuesday.

The Stars were 14 over par at 302 for the third round and finished two strokes behind sixth-ranked Friends.

"Not the result we wanted, but lots of positives to take away," said OCU Head Coach Blake Trimble. "Losing by two shots always hurts, but everyone has moments of great golf. We just have to put it ask together now. Looking forward to our next event!"

Christian Yanovitch finished third for the tournament at one under par after a 76 on Tuesday. He birdied holes two, five, 13 and 18.

Carter Ray was 10th at four over with a 75 on the final round.

Lorenzo Santinelli was 11th after three rounds with a third round of 77. He birdied holes nine and 12 on Tuesday.

Simon Jansson's two-over on the final round brought him to seven over for the tournament and 14th place. He finished off with birdies on 15, 16 and 17 while also capturing the fourth hole.

Philipp Perzl finished 34th with a seven-over on Tuesday. He had birdies on holes 10 and 13.

Jack Newton, golfing as an individual, shot an 80 and finished 29th.

The Stars are back in action March 16 and 17 at the Kyle Blaser Invitational.
