Stars Drop Two at Doane

DOANE, Neb. – Oklahoma City dropped a pair of games at Doane on Sunday, falling 5-4 and 6-1.
 
The Stars are back in action Tuesday afternoon, hosting Sterling in a 2 p.m. contest.
 
Doane 5, OCU 4
 
OCU scored first on a two-run home run by Trent Baker in the second and the Stars gained a 3-1 lead in the fourth on an RBI double by Jack Johnson.
 
Doane took its first lead with a three-run fifth inning.
 
The Stars narrowed that lead to 5-4 in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by Brittain Brewer but left the potential tying run at third base.
 
Bauer Brittain (1-1) suffered the pitching loss and Spencer Biggerstaff pitched a spotless inning of relief.
 
Baker had two hits to lead the nine-hit OCU attack.

Will Ellis had three of OCU's five hits in the game, including an RBI single in the fourth inning.
 
Baker was the pitcher of record for the Stars. Nick Anaya pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.
