OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City women's golf, ranked 10
th in the NAIA, returns to action Monday and Tuesday at the Battling in the Desert Tournament, hosted by the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M.

The 54-hole tournament includes two rounds on Monday with the final round set for Tuesday.

The Course: Rockwind Community Links GC in Hobbs hosted the 2022 New Mexico Open by the Sun Country PGA. The front nine provides for an outer "loop" that surrounds the interior back nine and plays in a clockwise direction around the perimeter of the property and into the native vegetation. This outer loop at Rockwind allows for a full experience of the site that catches glimpses of the train tracks, a windmill, The Soaring Society of America headquarters and the virgin ground that surrounds the course.

Repping the Stars: Logan Allen,
Klaudie Karnikova,
Paula Ortiz,
Beatriz Pinheiro and
Taylor Tevis make up the team for the tournament. Allen, Karnikova, Pinheiro and Tevis have played in both of OCU's previous tournaments this season. Ortiz is making her second appearance this tournament.

The Field: Joining OCU and Southwest on the links for the tournament are fifth-ranked Texas Wesleyan, Wayland Baptist, USAO, Southwestern Christian, Texas A&M-Texarkana, Western Texas and New Mexico Junior College.

Last Tournament: Oklahoma City finished third in the Northwest Iowa Invitational on Tuesday, saving its best round for last at 279. The team was five under for the tournament.
Logan Allen finished eighth at two under with a round of 74 on Tuesday after going 69-71 in the first two rounds.
Klaudie Karnikova shot 73 in the final round and finished at two over and in 11
th place.
Gracie Levonitis was 23
rd at 11 over, going 72-75-80.
Beatriz Pinheiro andÂ
Paula Ortiz tied for 27
th at 15 over. Pinheiro shot 78-73-80. Participating as an individual, Ortiz went 78-74-79.
Taylor Tevis was 32
nd at 19 over, shooting 81-73-81.
