How It Happened
MACU earned a tough goal late in the first half (31st minute) after 32 minutes of back-and-forth efforts. Both teams combined for eight total corner kicks in the first half. Each team tallied seven shots in the first half, while MACU held the edge in corner kicks, 5-3, entering intermission. OCU doubled up the Evangels' shots in the second half, Okla. City totaled eight shots after the break alone. Goalkeeper Candela Blanco faced the most shots in a game she has seen since Aug. 29 against Our Lady of the Lake (9) on Saturday against MACU; her season save percentage is now .833. Blanco, a native of Avila, Spain, has been a stalwart presence between the posts for OCU.

In dramatic fashion, OCU netted a goal in the late stages of the contest. Haygood found the back of the net from a setup by Daugherty.

Welcome Newcomers
Multiple other newcomers to Okla. City are contributing alongside Blanco; Daugherty, a freshman from Piedmont, Okla. has netted five goals this year and connected on her first assist of 2025 to fellow newcomer Haygood. The midfielder transferred from Rose State, and she leads OCU in assists.
