How It Happened
The Stars poured on 45 shots (most since 2022 against Randall), with 22 coming in the first half and 23 in the second half.
Amelia Horsford continued her hot scoring streak and opened the floodgates in the 13th minute; the Stars' defender has netted seven goals in her last four games.
Ryann Brooks recorded her first goal of the season during the first half. Ponce followed the Brooks goal with one of her own right before halftime, and Tallal scored her first of three goals on an assist by
Kayleigh Haygood to conclude the opening half of play. The Stars continued their dominating performance into the second half.Â
Second Half SurgeÂ
OCU scored seven goals in the second half on 23 shots. Five different goal scorers found the back of the net during the last 45 minutes of play. Four different Stars recorded at least two goals scored against Hesston.Â
Freshman
Ali Daugherty began the second half spark by netting a goal 16 minutes into the second half; Daugherty has now scored in four straight matches.Â
Adding to the electric offensive attack was Carlton, who notched back-to-back goals in the later stages of the game. Â
Game Notes
- The Stars conclude non-conference play with a goal differential of +47
- Okla. City has had back-to-back games with multiple players recording a brace.Â
- Tallal's hat trick was the first of her OCU career.
