OKLAHOMA CITY -Â After playing six contests in two weekends and last week off, the Stars are coming home to the Freede Center for the first home and Sooner Athletic Conference matches of the season when Oklahoma City hosts Nelson at 6 p.m. on Friday and Texas Wesleyan at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The Stars are looking to put an end to a pair of losing streaks to those two opponents.

Perfection: The Stars are 19-0 in home openers. Since 2006, OCU has beaten Bacone, Wayland Baptist (twice), Oklahoma Baptist, St. Mary (Neb.), Oklahoma Wesleyan, Tabor, Nelson (SAGU), Southwestern Christian (three times), Northwestern Oklahoma State, St. Gregory's, Southeastern Oklahoma State, John Brown (twice), Paul Quinn, Texas Wesleyan and Langston. It is worth mentioning, since this is a home-opening weekend, that OCU is 13-6 all-time in the second home match of the season, have won seven of the last eight.

OCU at Home: With these first home games this weekend, it is good to know that the Stars were a solid 8-3 at home last season.

Five Sets: The Stars have seen half of their matches go to a fifth set with 3-2 wins over Bethel and Embry-Riddle and a 2-3 loss at the hands of St. Mary. Those three teams with which the Stars matched up pretty well are a combined 15-13.

Attacking: The Stars are swinging a .200 clip through six matches while holding the opponents at .174. Among players averaging more than three attempts per set,
Maddie Edwards leads the team at .232.

Kaylie Marshall have been outstanding in putting points away. Smallwood is second in the SAC at 3.28 kills per set and Marshall is third at 3.20.

Negative History: The Stars went 0-4 in the regular season last year against Nelson and Texas Wesleyan, taking only one set along the way. Nelson ended OCU's season last year in the SAC Tournament, 3-2. The Stars have lost the last eight to Nelson and the last seven to Texas Wesleyan.

Scouting Nelson: The Lions are the preseason pick to win the SAC but are off to a 2-6 start opposite a demanding schedule. Their lone win was over William Carey, who defeated OCU in three sets this season. Nelson swings at .159 this season and Alexandra Bonnett leads the team with a 2.38 kills per set average. Kerrigan Biggs averages 4.10 digs per set.

Scouting TWU: Texas Wesleyan is 3-4 this season with three common opponents with OCU. Both lost to William Carey in three and both defeated Our Lady of the Lake. But OCU scored a win over Embry-Riddle while TWU lost in four. The Rams are led by Hanna Rubis at 2.74 kills per set. Emily Lewis averages 3.87 digs per set.
