SAN ANTONIO – Oklahoma City scored its first goal of the season and defense made it stand up for a 1-0 win at Our Lady of the Lake on Thursday.
Francisco Miquel powered home a penalty kick in the 44
th minute, turning the table on the Stars' season. OCU had lost a pair of 1-0 games – both on penalty kicks – to start the season.
The OCU defense limited the Saints to six shots and zero shots on goal.
The Stars launched 11 shots, including five by
Bernardo Duarte. OCU put five shots on goal. Miquel and Duarte tested the keeper twice each with
Thomas Brulay putting one shot on frame.
Now 1-2, the Stars return to action Saturday afternoon at 3:30, visiting Texas A&M-Victoria.
