How it Happened
The two teams were nearly completely deadlocked all evening. Tough, physical play and defensive pressure were abundant in this matchup. There were more fouls amassed than total collective shots, more yellow cards than goals, and the only goal came via a second-half penalty kick that trickled in after initially being blocked by Alexis Bertrand.
From the Coach
Assistant Coach Harvey Paul ultimately felt good about the chances the team created, "We created enough good chances to get a result." Paul explains how errors hurt the Stars against the Mustangs, "Clear errors led to the opposition getting chances and ultimately the reason we lost the game." Chins and spirits are high after the loss, "We will be back and better, we get to focus on the next game," said Coach Paul.
Game Notes
- The Stars collected three shots on goal in the 1-0 loss.
- Both goalkeepers secured three saves each.
- Oklahoma City totaled only one corner kick.
