OKLAHOMA CITY – Eleven Oklahoma City University athletes compete this week in the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Marion, Ind.
 
Six OCU men and five women are registered in eight events in the meet that runs Wednesday through Friday at Indiana Wesleyan.
 
Evert Silva is the top-ranked men's 1500-meter runner in the NAIA with a seed time of 3:39.03. He is joined in that event by Belkhalfi Hamza, who is ranked seventh at 3:49.20.
 
Silva also qualified in the 800 meters along with Brendan Robeaux, who is ranked 12th at 1:51.12.
 
Ayenew Devany is ranked 19th in the 3000 steeplechase at 9:22.31.
 
Silva, Hamza, Robeaux and Devany are also listed as participants in the men's 4x800 relay, along with Alexander Daly and Tate Smithhart. The OCU 4x800 is ranked fourth with a seed time of 7:31.31.
 
For the OCU women, Florencia Cabrera, Isabelle Spiller, Erika Pena, Louise Cocking and Vanessa Perez are in the 4x800 relay, ranked 14th at 9:17.91.
 
Cocking also is ranked seventh in the 5K at 16:52.88. Perez is ranked 14th in the 400 meters at 9:17.91 and Pena is the No. 18 runner in the 1500 at 4:45.30.
