OKLAHOMA CITY—The Oklahoma City University Baseball team concluded its last home series of the season on Saturday. During the pre-game Senior Day festivities at Denney Crabaugh field, the Stars honored 12 graduating seniors. Among those recognized before the game against Oklahoma Panhandle State were Nic Bennett, Kason Bennefield, Hunter Brown, Jacob Burkett, Barrett Daniel, Trent Kiraly, Anthony Kopecky, Hunter Lenochan, Andrew Limbaugh, Isaac Horstman, Ethan Rhodes, and Austin Worley. The celebration before the game spilled over into the contest for the Stars, who won 13-1 against the Aggies.

The Stars used consistent scoring from their seniors early in the game to get their offense going against OPSU. OCU tallied one run in the first, two in the second, and three in the third.
In the first inning, Bennett reached on a fielder's choice, and Lenochan scored. Lenochan kept the scoring going in the second inning with a double, scoring Kopecky. After the Lenochan RBI, Rhodes drove in his fellow senior, Lenochan, with a single.
All three runs scored by OCU in the third inning came from one swing of the bat by Hunter Brown, who connected on a three-run shot that scored Daniel and Trent Kiraly.
OPSU kept the Stars from scoring in the fourth inning, but OCU struck again in the fifth. The Stars tallied seven runs and took advantage of OPSU errors. Lenochan was hit by a pitch, scoring Will Ellis. Bennett recorded an RBI when he drew a walk that brought Oliver Falvey across home plate. Kiraly then recorded a SAC fly that scored Kopecky. Lastly, Brown connected on his second home run of the game when he sent a grand slam over the scoreboard in left field.
Another senior Star shined bright during Saturday's game. Starting pitcher Jacob Burkett crafted a quality start on the mound and only gave up one run on six hits with seven punch-outs over his six innings pitched. Burkett moved his record to 5-2 on the season.
Next Up
Oklahoma City will conclude its 2025 campaign with a three-game series on the road against MACU. The Stars will play a single game on Thursday at 7 PM and a doubleheader on Saturday. The games on Saturday are scheduled for noon and 3 PM.
