OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Men's Basketball team closed the book on its 2024-25 season in an overtime defeat to Southwestern Christian dropping 12th consecutive game to finish the year.

FIRST HALF: SCU opened the scoring with Deondre Dunn hitting a three-pointer at the 19:45 mark, but OCU responded quickly with
Beau Tranter's three-point play (19:27), tying the game at 3-3. Both teams exchanged baskets in a fast-paced opening stretch. Ahmad Kennedy's triple (18:14) put SCU ahead 6-3, but
Avery Jackson countered with a three of his own (18:01). Midway through the half, neither team could gain separation, as
Clayton Jewell's putback (15:11) and George McCurdy's corner three (15:32) highlighted the seesaw battle.
OCU's Brandon Wilson caught fire late in the half, scoring eight straight points including back-to-back triples (7:44, 5:22), pushing OCU ahead 30-27. However, SCU's Dunn drained another three-pointer (2:56), giving SCU a narrow 36-35 lead. Brandon Wilson's last-second layup sent the teams into halftime with OCU up 38-36.
SECOND HALF: OCU extended its lead early in the second half, with Wilson continuing his scoring spree. His three-pointer at the 17:12 mark stretched the lead to 45-39. SCU countered with a quick 7-0 run capped by Kennedy's transition layup (14:40), reclaiming a 46-45 advantage.
The teams traded leads throughout the second half. SCU's Michal Wooldridge dominated the paint, scoring consecutive buckets (10:12, 9:01), while Dunn added another three-pointer (7:23), putting SCU ahead 63-60. OCU's Wilson wasn't done, connecting on his fifth triple (4:18) to knot the game at 70-70.
Down the stretch, SCU's free throws proved vital. Kennedy and Kolby Vestal combined to go 4-for-4 from the line in the final minute, but OCU's Lawrence Taylor Jr. converted a layup (0:07) to force overtime at 80-80.
OVERTIME: SCU dominated the extra period with an 11-4 run. Dunn opened with a driving layup (4:42), followed by McCurdy's putback (3:31) and Fetuga's crucial three-pointer (1:18). Despite OCU's Brandon Wilson scoring his game-high 29th point, SCU's free-throw accuracy clinched the victory.
