OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City put up a strong fight but came up short in a 90-84 loss to Nelson on Saturday.
 
The Stars had a 57-56 lead with 1:33 left in the third quarter but an early fourth-quarter run by Nelson saw the Lions pull ahead 73-60. NU led by as many as 14 in the final frame before OCU was able to whittle the lead down to 86-82 with 54 seconds remaining.
 
OCU got 22 points and six from Ellie Willard. Lauren Rowan had 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals and Victoria Ososanya added 15 points and nine rebounds.
 
The Stars get back on the court one last time before the Christmas Break, taking on Hesston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
