OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City plays its first home conference games of the season this week with visits from John Brown on Thursday and College of the Ozarks on Saturday.
 
The Stars (6-3 overall and 3-0 in the SAC) battle John Brown (5-3, 2-1) at 8 p.m. on Thursday and the Bobcats (2-4, 1-2) at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Five in 10: Oklahoma City plays another three games next week with home dates Monday against Southwestern Christian and Saturday against Nelson wrapped around a Thursday road date at Texas Wesleyan.
 
Previously: Oklahoma City shredded Haskell 115-85 on Tuesday. The Stars shot 58 percent from the field and had 13 steals on their way to their fourth consecutive victory. Fourteen Stars got into the game and half of those scored in double-figures. Jonas Carlisle led the Stars with 18 points. Jack McWilliams and Beau Tranter came off the bench for 14 points each. Hykeem Hancock and Smith had 11 points apiece and Brian Alexander had 10 points. No one got more than 24 minutes of playing time. Alexander had five assists. Carlisle and Lawrence Taylor Jr. had three steals each. Alphonse Muteba had eight points and a team-best 12 rebounds.
 
Stars at Home: The Stars are 2-0 at home this season and averaging 117 points per game. Seven Stars averaged double-figures in scoring in Abe Lemons Arena this season, led by Jonas Carlisle at 14.5 and Jackson Hopps at 14. Beau Tranter averages 13.5, Alphonse Muteba and Hykeem Hancock average 12.5 apiece, SaVaughn Smith averages 11 and Briand Alexander gets 10.5 points per game at home. OCU averages a 48-28 rebounding edge in their wins against Randall and Haskell.
 
OCU vs. the SAC: The Stars are off to a 3-0 start and have won their first three SAC road games to start the season for the first time since the 2007-08 championship season. Jonas Carlisle averages 22.3 points and Brian Alexander 21 points in conference games. Alexander averages 5.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game while Carlisle gets eight rebounds per league game.
 
Who's Hot: Jonas Carlisle is shooting 56 percent from three-point range in the last three games (14-25) and Alphonse Muteba is shooting 73 percent from the field (11-15) over those three contests.
 
Points: Three Stars are getting 10 or more points per game this season, led by Jonas Carlisle at 18.6. Brian Alexander averages 16.6 and Jackson Hopps gets 10.9 points per game. Carlisle leads the team with 30 three-pointers and Alexander has 50 baskets inside the arch. Jackson Hopps and Alphonse Muteba share the team lead with 20 made free throws apiece.
 
Shooting the Rock: Alphonse Muteba has been strong this season with his 74.4 field goal shooting percentage. Jonas Carlisle has the range from the perimeter, shooting 46.2 percent from three-point range. Jackson Hopps is shooting 87 percent (20-23) and Brian Alexander 96.4 percent (19-22) from the free-throw line.
 
Defensively: A dozen Stars have accounted for 78 steals this season, led by Brian Alexander with 14, Jackson Hopps with 13 and Jonas Carlisle with 12. Carlisle has seven blocked shots.
 
Our Best So Far: Alphonse Muteba's 12 rebounds against Haskell last week is the best for OCU so far this season. Brian Alexander has OCU's top scoring performance at 29 against MACU and a season-best seven assists at USAO.
 
Off the Bench: Hykeem Hancock took over a sixth-man role when Jackson Hopps moved into the starting lineup for the last four games and he has responded. Hancock has averaged 9.2 points in the last four games.
 
History with JBU: The Golden Eagles swept the season series last year, including a 50-point win at home and a 90-86 win in Abe Lemons Arena.
 
Scouting the Golden Eagles: John Brown is 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the SAC after a 78-76 win over the College of the Ozarks on Tuesday. Junior guard Trae Oetting leads the Golden Eagles at 18.1 points per game. Senior forward Donovan Lovelace gets 16.1 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game.
 
History with CO: OCU split the season series with Ozarks last season with each team winning on the road. CO got the win, 87-83 in Abe Lemons Arena last season.
