OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City women's wrestling gets back on the mats this weekend at the Missouri Valley Open in Marshall, Missouri.
 
The two-day event begins at 9 a.m. on Friday.
 
OCU Notebook
Possible Entrants: Though some of the possible OCU entrants may take the weekend off to recover from injuries, the Stars project a possible lineup of Alexis Miller and Sofia Abramson at 103, Bryce White and Anna Vogt at 131, Natalia Posada at 138, Corin Lowe at 145, Makayla  Munoz at 160, Symphony Veloz at 180 and Ella Murphey at 207.
 
Rankings: The 11th-ranked Stars enter the week with seven Top-25 wrestlers. Corin Lowe is ranked fifth at 145 pounds. Natalia Posada earned the No. 6 ranking at 138 pounds. Ella Murphey is ranked eighth at 207. Alexis Miller is eighth and Sofia Abramson is 15th at 103. Bryce White holds down the No. 13 spot at 131 pounds and Makayla Munoz is ranked 15th at 160.
 
The Previous Tournament: Oklahoma City crowned two champions and all five entrants placed in the top three at the Carl Albert Viking Women's Open. Symphony Veloz won at 180 and Ella Murphey at 207 for the Stars. Makayla Munoz was second in 160. Rayleigh Fisher and Coty Sessions placed third in 138 and 124, respectively. After a technical fall victory in the quarterfinals, Velez won by fall in the semifinals and finals. She defeated two unattached entrants, including Riley Samarripa in the championship bout. Murphey dominated with three falls in 1:24, 1:17 and 0:20. Her quick win in the finals came against Holidae Banfield of Carl Albert. Munoz was 3-1 on the day, including a technical fall against Cameron Massie of Oklahoma State. She lost in the finals to Oklahoma State's Kaiulani Garcia. Sessions was 3-1 and scored a technical fall in the third-place match against Madison Roe of Carl Albert, 11-0. Fisher 2-3 on the day, beating unattached Kayleigh Braden in her final match by fall at 1:59.
 
The Field: About 30 teams, ranging from junior college, NAIA, and three divisions of the NCAA are represented at the tournament. Among the notables from the NAIA ranks are No. 3 William Penn, No. 9 Texas Wesleyan, No. 12 Ottawa, No. 14 Hastings, No. 16 Missouri Valley and national poll vote-getters Baker, Montreat, Friends, Midland, York, Morningside and Missouri Baptist.
