OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City looks to continue its Sooner Athletic Conference success this week with games Thursday at USAO and Saturday at Mid-America Christian.
 
The Stars play at USAO at 8 p.m. on Thursday and at MACU at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
 
OCU Notebook
Good SAC Start: Oklahoma City shot 51 percent from the field and rolled to an 85-63 victory at Southwestern Christian in its Sooner Athletic Conference opener on Saturday. Jonas Carlisle led the Stars with 26 points, including five three-pointers in 10 attempts. Brian Alexander added 17 points and Jackson Hopps scored 10. Alexander had four assists. OCU had 15 steals in the game with Alexander and Hopps getting three each. Alphonse Muteba had a team-leading eight rebounds.
 
Road Warriors: After opening the season with a home win over Randall, the Stars have played its last five games away from Abe Lemons Arena, going 2-3 in the last five games. OCU is 1-1 in true road games, led by Jonas Carlisle who averages 24 points and seven rebounds in hostile environs. Brian Alexander averages 14.5 points and four assists on the road and Jackson Hopps scored 10.5 points per road game.
 
Scoring: Jonas Carlisle and Brian Alexander lead the team in scoring, averaging 18 and 15.5 points per game, respectively. Jackson Hopps averages 11.2 points per game. Carlisle leads the team with 16 three-pointers and carries a 40 percent shooting percentage from the perimeter. Alphonse Muteba averages 8.6 points per game and is shooting 75 percent from the field – all inside the arch. Jackson Hopps leads the team in free-throw percentage at 89.5.
 
Board Games: OCU gets to the boards. The Stars average seven more rebounds per game than their opponents. Jonas Carlisle leads OCU with 7.3 rebounds per game, including a team-best 25 offensive rebounds.
 
Assistance: The Stars average 12.5 assists per game. Brian Alexander leads the team with 3.3 per game.
 
Defense: Jonas Carlisle gets after opponents defensively. He leads the team with seven blocked shots and has eight steals. Jackson Hopps leads the squad with nine steals..
 
History with USAO: The Drovers won the season series last year, including a 79-72 win in Chickasha.
 
Scouting the Drovers: USAO is 4-0 this season and 3-0 in Chickasha after a 115-107 win over Hesston on Saturday. The Drovers average 108 points per game, led by senior guard Mohand Ammad at 32 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
 
History with MACU: Mid-America Christian has won the last four games in the series, including a 69-48 win in the Gaulke Activity Center last season.
 
Scouting the Evangels: MACU is 4-0 this season – all at home – with a road game Monday at Hesston. The Evangels won their last game, 89-53, against Randall. Morris Williams averages 20 points and 6.3 rebounds to lead the Evangels.
