How It Happened
The Stars went into intermission down 1-0 against USAO on Tuesday night. Nearly 25 minutes into the match, the Drover offense found success when Dagbjort Gudmundsdottir netted an unassisted strike. Near the mid-way point of the second half, OCU went down two goals to none when a Drover's corner kick found its way untouched into the far corner of the goal. The Olympico came at the 66-minute mark. Less than a handful of minutes later,
Kayleigh Haygood headed an accurate crosser from
Abby Russell to muck up the USAO clean sheet. During the 90 seconds of the match, OCU put three shots on goal, but Drover's goalie, Ashlyn Lonberg, snared each shot attempt.Â
Return Fire
After recording gaudy offensive and defensive numbers during the first two months of the season, OCU finally faced an overpowering offensive force. The 15 shots tallied by USAO are the most the OCU defense has allowed all season.Â
On the Radar
Oklahoma City will return to Brian Harvey Field to host Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday, Oct. 11. Game time is set for 1 p.m., and the Stars will play the next two matches at home.  Â
