OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City volleyball has a busy week on the road with three Sooner Athletic Conference matches.
 
The Stars play at Central Christian at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, at Langston at 6 p.m. on Thursday and at Southwestern Christian at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
 
OCU Notebook
Last Match: Oklahoma City dropped a tough 3-2 Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball match at the College of the Ozarks on Saturday, falling 25-18, 25-22, 25-27, 17-25, 15-10. Natalie Adams racked up 55 assists in the match for OCU, feeding a trio of double-digit killers. Grace Smallwood led the Stars with 19 kills, followed by Erin Mack with 14 and Maddie Edwards with 12. Smallwood and Adams each had a pair of aces. Defensively, Edwards was in on four blocks and Adams had a hand in three. Kate Cleofe led the Stars with 19 digs. Kaylie Marshall and Ryan Leland had 17 each and Smallwood contributed a dozen.
 
Road Matches: The Stars went 1-5 in Sooner Athletic Conference road matches in the first half of the season. In all road matches this season, OCU has a .144 attack percentage. Grace Smallwood averages 4.00 kills and Natalie Adams 10.41 assists per set on the road this season.
 
Trend: In the last fiver matches, the Stars are averaging 12.8 kills and swinging at a .220 clip. Grace Smallwood is averaging 3.67 kills and Natalie Adams 10.78 assists in the four matches.
 
In League: After a 0-5 start in the Sooner Athletic Conference, the Stars are tied for eighth with John Brown and Langston.
 
Grace Kills: Grace Smallwood leads the Stars and the Sooner Athletic Conference with 242 kills this season and is second in the league at 3.56 kills per set.
 
With the Assist: Natalie Adams shares the Sooner Athletic Conference with 9.87 assists per game this season. She has a conference high of 671 assists this season.

Access Denied: Maddie Edwards and Marina Kalajdzic have been strong up front for the OCU defense. Kalajdzic has 12 solos and 43 total blocks, while Edwards has 47. Edwards is ninth in the SAC in blocks.
 
Digs Up: The Stars have three players averaging over three digs per set and two are hitters. Kaylie Marshall averages 3.45 per set and Grace Smallwood checks in at 3.43. Marshall is ninth in the SAC. OCU's liberos Katelyn Stephenson and Kate Cleofe are averaging 2.95 and 2.94, respectively.
 
Aces: Natalie Adams recorded an all-time top-five performance with seven aces against Southwestern Christian on Sept. 23.
 
History with Central Christian: The Stars swept Central two weeks ago to improve to 16-0 in the all-time series. In the 3-0 win at OCU, Erin Mack had 11 kills and six blocks.
 
History with Langston: OCU improved to 12-0 all-time against Langston with a sweep last weekend. Grace Smallwood had 11 kills in the home match for OCU this season.
 
History with Southwestern Christian: The Stars improved to 25-1 in the all-time series after a 3-0 win in Oklahoma City two weeks back. Natalie Adams had seven aces and Grace Smallwood had 16 kills for OCU
 
Scouting the Tigers: Central Christian is 3-14 overall and 1-10 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Katirya Vergara leads the Tigers at 2.81 kills per set.
 
Scouting the Lions: Langston is 8-12 overall and 4-7 against the SAC with Southwestern Christian visiting on Tuesday. Ayanna Moore paces LU at 2.44 kills per set.
 
Scouting the Eagles: Southwestern Christian is 0-14 overall and 0-11 in the conference this season with trips to Langston and Central Christian upcoming before OCU arrives on Saturday. Emery Hulme leads SCU at 1.51 kills per set.
 
2K: Natalie Adams had 32 assists in the win over Langston on last Saturday to bring her to an even 2,000 for her career.
 
On to 300!: Coach Kristen Coventon came into the season with 195 career coaching wins – 109 of those at Oklahoma City. The win on Tuesday was career win No. 200 for her. She picked up her 100th win of her Stars era at home against USAO on Sept. 28. Her win total now stands at 201 for her career and 115 at OCU.
 
Setter of the Week: Oklahoma City University got its first weekly volleyball honor of the season with Natalie Adams taking Setter of the Week honors. Adams had 10.7 assists in two road matches for the week, adding 10 digs in each of those matches. It is the second career Setter of the Week honor for Adams, who is a two-time All-Conference selection.
