Stars Finish Fall Season wtih Second Win

BLANCHARD – Oklahoma City men's golf captured its second consecutive victory on Tuesday, closing out the fall season with a seven-stroke victory over host USAO in the Battle of Winter Creek.
 
The Stars shot three under par for the tournament despite a tough round of six over on Tuesday, which represented the lowest score of all teams.
 
Lorenzo Santinelli led the Stars in third place at two under par after rounds of 67, 74 and 73. Santinelli had birdies on holes one, three, five, eight, 11 and 17 on Tuesday to bring his total to 14.
 
Carter Ray was seventh at even par, going 71-73-72 for the tournament. His Tuesday birdies on five, eight, 14 and 17 brought his birdie total to seven to go along with his double eagle on Monday.
 
After a pair of 71s on Monday, Christian Yanovitch had a 75 in the final round to finish ninth at one over par. He picked up his 12th and 13th birdies of the tournament on holes 10 and 15.
 
Philipp Perzl was 11th at four over par after going 71-69-80 with a birdie on the fifth hole on Tuesday. He ended up with nine birdies and an eagle for the tournament.
 
Simon Jansson rounded out the team scoring with rounds of 74, 77 and 74 for 17th place at nine over par. He birdied holes 14 and 17 on Tuesday to finish the tournament with eight.
 
Jack Newton, participating as an individual, was fifth at one under par. He shot rounds of 73, 71 and 71 and birdied holes two, nine, 10 and 17 in the final round. He ended the tournament with an eagle and 11 birdies
 
JJ Grimm placed 19th at 10 over par with rounds of 73, 77 and 76. His final round included birdies on the eighth and 17th holes to lift his total to seven birdies for the tournament.
 
Cameron Bozyk birdied holes five, eight and 17 on his way to a 75 on Tuesday after a pair of 77s on Monday. He finished 13 over par and in 23rd place with seven birdies.
 
Luke Woods was 32nd at plus15 with rounds of 76, 78 and 77. He ended up with five birdies.

"Proud of these guys for finishing the fall with a couple of hard-fought wins," said OCU Head Coach Blake Trimble. "They battled a tough course this week and stayed patient and came out on top. Excited about where this team is headed, but still have a lot of work to do this offseason."
