SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - The Oklahoma City Women's Basketball team saw its three game winning streak come to an end on Monday night to John Brown as the Stars offense scored its second lowest total of the season.

STAT OF THE GAME:
Amaya Gordon reached double-figure scoring for the fourth straight game as the senior raked in a game-high 17 points while hauling in a team-high nine rebounds. Gordon comes off winning the Sooner Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 24.0 PPG last week and 8.5 rebounds.
FIRST QUARTER: Oklahoma City held onto the lead throughout the entirety of the first quarter as freshman
Brooke Curry opened the game with a three as she led the way with five points in the period while
Amaya Gordon and
Raegan Travis split for four points each to hold a 13-12 lead at the end of the period.
SECOND QUARTER: In the second quarter, the OCU offense hit a wall scoring just six points including being shutout in the final 3:47. John Brown opened the quarter with three straight three-pointers which started an 11-0 to take the lead and maintain a 27-19 advantage into the break.
THIRD QUARTER: The Oklahoma City scoring drought continued through the third quarter lasting a total of eight minutes allowing the Golden Eagles to go ahead by 18 points. Gordon broke the scoreless run for the Stars with 4:51 to play which ignited an 8-0 run where
Jerzie Bryant pitched in with consecutive swishes that helped bring the lead down to 12 entering the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Taryn Cottrell cut the deficit down to single-digits right out the gate with a three on the first possession before John Brown turned right back around with five straight points to go up 14 as the Golden Eagles held its double-digit lead for the rest of the way.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City falls for the first time since Jan. 6 seeing its three-game winning streak come to a close as the Stars move to 8-12 overall and 8-8 in conference play sitting in the eighth place in the SAC standings.
- Raegan Travis followed Gordon in scoring with eight points as half of them came from the foul line by going 4-for-4 from the stripe.
- Each team shot seven free throws each with Oklahoma City sinking five, four coming Travis and one from Gordon. The Golden Eagles held the edge going 6-for-7 from the line with three players making two each.
- The two teams split the season-series with each other for the first time since the 2013-14 season after OCU came away with a 61-57 overtime victory back on Nov. 26.
- Oklahoma City holds a 38-7 all-time series lead over John Brown since 2005 while the Golden Eagles have won six of the last seven meetings.
NEXT TIME OUT: Oklahoma City is back in action on Saturday remaining on the road for a short trip to Mid-America Christian at 2:00 PM inside the Gaulke Activity Center.
