OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Women's Basketball team had just one player reach double-digits in scoring as the Stars scored a season-low 37 points in the 13 point loss to Texas Wesleyan on Thursday night inside Abe Lemons Arena.

STAT OF THE GAME: Oklahoma City scored its lowest point total in over a decade as
Akajia Handsom was the only Star to reach double-figures in scoring with 10 points after going 3-for-5 from the field and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
FIRST QUARTER: Texas Wesleyan opened the night with six straight points after a nailing a three to start the contest. Oklahoma City turned right back around with a 13-0 run holding the Rams scoreless for five and a half minutes as Handsom helped push the Stars in front with six points in the quarter. In the final 1:54 Texas Wesleyan erased the deficit as Payton Foster put her team back in front with 34 seconds to go closing out the first period 16-15.
SECOND QUARTER: It took over seven minutes for the Stars to get on the board in the second quarter as
Lauren Rowan sank in a three for her first points of the season playing in his first game of the campaign. Rowan scored the Stars only basket in the second quarter as a OCU struggled to find the bottom of the net shooting 1-of-12 from the field while Texas Wesleyan jumped out to a 27-18 lead heading into the halftime break.
THIRD QUARTER: Oklahoma City battled back to begin the second half cutting the deficit to four as OCU held Texas Wesleyan without a bucket through the first five minutes.
Jerzie Bryant knocked down a pair of free throws at the 5:40 mark which stood as the last two points Oklahoma City could gain allowing the Rams to reach up to a 15 point lead at the end of the quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Texas Wesleyan held its double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest taking its biggest lead of 21 points with 3:47 to play. Oklahoma City outscored Texas Wesleyan in the final quarter 12-10 as Handsom led with four points in the period while
Taryn Cottrell knocked down a three to give her three points on the night.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City falls to 5-9 on the year and moves to .500 in conference play at 5-5.
- OCU cashed in 15 second chance points with 18 points coming off the bench.
- Akajia Handsom led the Stars with 10 points off the bench as the junior scored double-digits for the second time this season.
- Amaya Gordon saw her nine game double-digit scoring streak come to an end on Thursday night with only eight points while grabbing a team-high eight rebounds.
- Oklahoma City struggled taking care of the ball as the Stars committed their second-highest turnover count of 24.
- The Stars drop their eighth straight game to Texas Wesleyan while Oklahoma City still holds the series lead of 15-8 since 2014.
