CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The Oklahoma City University women's wrestling team showcased determination and grit on the first day of the NWCA National Duals, going 0-2 in duals against formidable opponents.

In the opening round, OCU faced off against No. 7-ranked Indiana Tech in a tightly contested dual. Despite a strong effort and several individual victories, the Stars were edged out, with a forfeit at 207 pounds proving to be the deciding factor. Later in the day, OCU battled No. 11-ranked Doane University, ultimately falling 29-17.

The Stars delivered some standout performances, with Alexis Miller making an impressive return in her second event of the season. Miller pinned both the No. 5 and No. 3-ranked women in the nation, highlighting her talent and resilience. Ella Murphy also shined, earning pins against the No. 9 and No. 17-ranked competitors in the country.

The team will start day two of the tournament against the University of Saint Marys.
