OKLAHOMA CITY– The Oklahoma City women's soccer team collected a win in the Sooner Athletic Conference opener with a clean sheet effort against Southwestern Christian University snapping a three-game losing streak for the Stars.

How it Happened
The scoring started early for the home Stars with a goal at the 27-second mark scored by senior Hallie Crom, the score was assisted by Yami Ponce. Crom's goal was the lone goal scored by OCU in the first half. The Stars netted two second-half goals, which padded their lead. In the 75th minute, Saizlee Carlton scored her third goal of the season on an unassisted strike that extended the OCU lead to 2-0. Less than ten minutes later, sophomore OKC native Yami Ponce notched a scoring strike after a SCU red card in the box. The penalty kick by Ponce sealed the victory for the Stars as they went up three goals to none.
