Set 1
Oklahoma City jumped out with four straight points behind a kill each from
Ruby Kelley and
Rylee Steward before
Grace Smallwood delivered back-to-back aces to finish the scoring. Langston went on to string together a 6-0 run to take an 8-7 lead and was one of many one point leads the Lions held. Each time Oklahoma City was about to pull away there was Langston crawling back and regained its lead at 20-19. As Langston led 22-21, Oklahoma City ripped off three in a row as Steward gave the Stars the lead and
Layla Olvera placed the Stars at set point with an ace. Here came the Lions once again as they did all set holding set point three different times until OCU closed it out with three straight points on three straight kills coming from
Jaiden Downey and
Grace Smallwood who notched the final two which ended things at 31-29.
Set 2
The second set turned out to be much different than the first as Oklahoma City put together an early 6-1 run which included kills from five different Stars to take an 11-5 lead. OCU was far from done as the Stars rattled off another huge run scoring 10 straight points and finished off a 13-2 run as Steward earned a pair of kills while Kelley and Smallwood pitched in as well. Langston was able to score one more time but the deficit was to much to overcome as Oklahoma City earned its way to a 25-10 victory in set two.
