How it Happened
Right out of the shoot it was Pitt State who scored its first point 19 seconds into the contest after a yellow card on a foul inside the box led to Gorillas Danae Hobson placing home a penalty kick. Meanwhile, nine minutes later a similar play on the other end of the pitch allowed for an OCU penalty try which came from
Yami Ponce as she tied the match up 1-1 in the ninth minute.Â
Pitt State went on to regain the lead before the first half came to a close on goal from River Riley in minute 30. Oklahoma City could not even things up through the next 45 minutes as the Gorillas went up two scores just a minute into the second half and held its advantage for the remainder of the way.
