STAR OF THE SHOW: Ruby Kelley notched her third straight double-double with a game-high 12 kills along with 11 digs and team-high four blocks.
THE RUNDOWN
Set 1
Oklahoma City was able to break away in the first set by taking its at largest lead up to this point at 13-7 which was propelled by two aces from
Natalie Adams and kills by
Erin Mack and
Rylee Steward. OCU continued to grow its lead over Wayland after four straight points by Stars which included three kills coming from
Jaiden Downey,
Maddie Edwards and
Emma Nickerson. Oklahoma City finished things off outscoring the Pioneers 3-1 to get to 25.
Set 2
As Wayland Baptist jumped out to a 6-4 lead the Stars turned right around with a 9-3 run as
Rylee Steward delivered three kills during that span. OCU never surrendered its lead as Wayland Baptist came within one point before the Stars rattled off three straight points ending with a
Jaiden Downey service ace.
Set 3
Oklahoma City came storming out of the gate scoring six straight points on three kills by
Ruby Kelley which led to the Pioneers calling a timeout. Oklahoma City looked like it was about to close things out after getting up 17-11 after two kills by
Rylee Steward, however the Pioneers began to climb back by cutting the Stars lead to 22-21. Just like the second set, Oklahoma City closed things out behind a pair of freshman in
Grace Smallwood who delivered two kills and
Erin Mack who smacked down the game winner.

- With the win, Kristen Coventon snatched her 96th victory at OCU and 182nd overall in her career.Â

- Grace Smallwood collected 11 digs being the sixth time this season the freshman has notched double-digit digs while also having six kills.
- Natalie Adams held the team-high in assists with 18 on the night as the sophomore tabbed her third straight double-double after having 11 digs.
- Jaiden Downey finished with double-digit assists for the fourth match in a row while collecting seven digs for the third consecutive time.
