OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City women's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Bellevue on a goal in the 88th minute to take down OCU 1-0.
How it Happened
As neither team got themselves on the scoreboard in the first half, they split the shot total with four each in the first 45.Oklahoma City could only get one shot off in the second half going high from
Yami Ponce while only putting two on-goal for the entire match both coming in the first half of play.
Late into the match seeming like a draw is near, Emma Madej got loose going down the right side and found teammate Sami Redding who nailed the game winner with under two minutes left to play to give Bellevue the 1-0 win.
Notes on the Game
- With the loss, Oklahoma City moves to 4-2 suffering back-to-back losses while being shutout for the second straight match.
- In a tight defensive game, Oklahoma City posted its lowest total of shots and shots on-goal for the season with just five total shots in the match and only two on-goal.
- Three of the shots came from the Stars bench with Inka Silz, Yami Ponce and Ameila Horsford doing the work as Horsford had one of the two shots on-goal.
- Abby Russell had the other Stars attempt on-goal while Reese Roberts also tried for a shot.
