How it Happened
The Stars first goal of the season took 25 minutes to score but once the first goal was scored, the floodgates opened. OCU scored three goals in three minutes after they settled into their season opener match against Bethany (Kan). Marco Alongi, the senior by way of Italy netted the first goal of the season for the Stars. Alongi's goal was followed by David Imbert scoring his first goal of the 2024 campaign, assisted by Henrique Duarte.
Almost immediately after OCU scored their second goal, they scored their third when Jovanny Nsonga put the ball in the back of the net on an assist from newcomer Thomas Brulay who hails from France. Brulay ended the contest with three assists. Senior Keita Kishino found himself in the scoring mix late in the first half.
Ruben Fayiha, the senior from Wales, sandwiched his two goals between halftime—the chemistry between him and Brulay evident with Fayiha netting both scores on an assist from Brulay. The scoring continued as Alongi tallied his second unassisted goal of the match. Late in the second half another Duarte brother (Bernando) recorded an assist on Hannan Ashraf's goal in the 71st minute.
