CLEVELAND, Ohio - Oklahoma City University Athletics finishes in 12th place in the NAIA LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings released by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) officials on Tuesday (June 11).
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between NACDA and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in 13 sports during their championships. The NAIA must count four sports -- men and women's basketball, men's soccer and volleyball -- with the remaining nine coming from any of the remaining championship sports.
Overall, 13 sports are counted in the final NAIA standings, four of which must be men's basketball, men's soccer, women's basketball and women's volleyball. The next highest (9 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
In the fall, Oklahoma City tallied 66.00 total points before growing that number to 322.25 in the winter while having 238.00 in the spring to bring the total number for the year to 626.25.
Around the Sooner Athletic Conferece, Oklahoma City came in as the leader with Texas Wesleyan following in behind at 20th overall with 546.00 points.
