OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University Director of Athletics
Sadiaa Jones was inducted into the Elk City Leadership Hall of Fame on Friday.

An Elk City native and a 1995 graduate of Elk City High School, Jones was a key member of the Elkettes' 1995 Class 3A State Championship basketball team as a senior during the school's first year of five-on-five play. She was also a standout track athlete, winning a state title in the 100-meter hurdles and setting a school record that still stands.
Â
Jones went on to compete collegiately and earn advanced degrees in education and health.
Â
In July 2025, she was named Oklahoma City University Athletics Director after holding leadership roles at Dallas College, Seminole State College, and Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She comes from a family with a strong Elk City legacy, including her mother, Minnie Dickerson Wharry and her late father, Wayne Jones, both ECHS graduates.
