LEWISTON, ID. - The Oklahoma City baseball team began play in the 2024 NAIA Opening Round in Lewiston, Idaho where the Stars suffered a 10-3 defeat to Arizona Christian on Harris Field, the home site of Lewis-Clark State College.

Game Summary
After neither team plated a run across in the first, Arizona Christian put up runs in the next four straight innings to go up 9-0.
Oklahoma City got on the board for the first time with two in the fifth and one in the sixth. Aiden Alexander drove in the first two runs for the Stars with a single to center that scored Tristan Williams and Darian Duhon.
In the sixth, OCU got its lone run on a Duhon single to right that brought in Aiden Van Rensum cutting the Firestorm lead to 9-3.
Arizona Christian added one more run in the top of the ninth on the team's second home run of the game to which the Firestorm held on to win 10-3.
Game Notes
Oklahoma City collected seven hits with Darian Duhon being the only Star to tally multiple hits in the contest. Duhon finished the day 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored bringing his team-high total to 49 runs scored on the year.
Aiden Alexander had the team's only two RBI after a 1-for-5 day at the plate extending his hitting streak to seven games. Monday was the ninth time Alexander has driven in multiple runs and was the third time in the last four games he has come up with two RBI.
Tristan Williams had the Stars only extra-base hit in the contest bringing his team-leading total in doubles to 15 this season.
Andrew Limbaugh made the start on the mound for Oklahoma City and went just 2.2 innings giving up four runs on four hits with two walks and no strikeouts.
Connor Ferguson entered the game in relief for OCU and finished out the rest of the game in 6.1 innings pitched allowing six runs, five earned on nine hits while striking out two.
Oklahoma City had a tough day defensively in the opening game of the tournament committing four errors which tied a season-high.
