OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City softball team remained unbeaten at home with two more wins on Thursday evening to push the Stars winning streak to 23 straight games behind a 4-for-4 performance at the plate from
Kaitlyn Jones in game one and a grand slam by
Baileigh Loux in game two.
Oklahoma City 8 - Texas Wesleyan 0
The win improves the Stars to 41-2 overall (29-1 in the SAC). The loss drops the Rams to 20-21 on the year (13-16 in the SAC).
Oklahoma City scored eight runs on 12 hits while Texas Wesleyan was shutout on only two hits while committing two errors.
Oklahoma City wasted no time to get started as
Rally Radacy,
Kaitlyn Jones and
Kamryn Garvie all reached base while back-to-back doubles from Jones and Garvie gave the Stars a 2-0 lead. Freshman
Tara Hoehner and
Mallory McCoy finished off the inning with an RBI single each which wrapped up the four run opening frame.
In the second, Hoehner came back up once again driving in two more runs with a single to left scoring Loux and Jones which gave Hoehner a game-high three RBIs on the day.
OCU finished things off with a run in the fourth coming on a base hit by Loux followed by Jones with a single through the left side that scored
Tiffany Paul from third to secure the run rule victory.
Kaitlyn Jones put together a big day at the plate for the Stars offense by going 4-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Jones notched four hits for the second time this season while doubling on two occasions to bring her season total to 12.
Rally Radacy came up with two hits joining Hoehner and Jones as the Stars to collect multiple hits in the contest while picking up two steals to give 10 stolen bases on the year.
Mallory McCoy made her 14th start of the season at second base in game and went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the first.
Kamryn Garvie extended her hitting streak to eight games after doubling for the 10th time this year.
Shelbey Cornelson made her 20th start of the season and improved to 18-2 with the win. Cornelson tossed all five innings allowing no runs on two hits with a walk and six strikeouts. The senior earned her 10th shutout of the year in her 17th complete game.
Oklahoma City stole seven bags in game one tying a season-high for steals in a single-game as Radacy and Heron both stole two apiece.

With the win, Oklahoma City improves to 42-2 overall (30-1 in the SAC). The loss for Texas Wesleyan moves the Rams to 20-22 on the year (13-17 in the SAC).
Oklahoma scored its 10 runs on five hits while Texas Wesleyan went without a run on three hits and had three errors.
Kamryn Garvie got the Stars on the board with an RBI double in the first inning before the game was broken open in the second as the Stars put up five runs in the inning highlighted by a two-out grand slam by
Baileigh Loux.
OCU added three more runs in the third as
Tiffany Paul scored from second on a wild pitch before
Rally Radacy drove in
Kindalyn Miller with a triple down the right field line.
The Stars added more final run in the fourth inning as
Grace Pollon came up in a pinch hit spot where she drove in Garvie from third on a groundout to the shortstop.
Loux led the way with four RBIs after going 2-for-2 at the dish adding her ninth home run of the season while tying the lead in RBIs with 55.
Kamryn Garvie moved her hitting streak to nine games in a row after going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a run batted in. Garvie slashed the teams only double of the game which was her 11th of the year.
Emersen Heron made the start in circle and once again earned the win to move her season record to 19-0 after going five innings of shutout ball while allowing three hits to go along with three walks and four strikeouts.
Oklahoma City moved its winning to 23 straight games while remaining unbeaten on its home field going 20-0.
OCU will be back in action on Friday afternoon with a doubleheader beginning at 12 PM as the Stars will wrap up its home slate and look to finish with a perfect home record for the first time since 2017.
