Stars complete series sweep on Field Dedication Day

OKLAHOMA CITY - The OCU baseball team capped off game three of the series against Texas Wesleyan with a 5-2 win to earn their second consecutive sweep.

Oklahoma City started out on top in the second inning with Hunter Brown driving in a pair of runs in his first start of the series putting OCU ahead 2-0 early.

Hunter Lenochan extended the lead to 3-0 in the fifth with a sacrifice fly to right field which brought home Spencer Biggerstaff

Texas Wesleyan enclosed on the Stars lead by putting up a run in the sixth and seventh highlighted by a home run from Ryan Flores.

OCU threatened in the eighth and stretched its lead back out to three with an Aiden Van Rensum double down the left field line scoring Lenochan and Ethan Rhodes to go up 5-2.

Chad Pike came on to deliver a six out save, his eighth of the year as he slammed the door shut on the Rams striking out three without giving up a hit.

Reese Ratchford got the start on the mound for OCU and went a season-high six innings while allowing one run on seven hits and struck out five.

Oklahoma City scored its five runs on just six hits while Hunter Lenochan became the only Star to provide two hits in the game to go along with an RBI and a run scored.
