OKLAHOMA CITY – The OCU baseball team surrendered 14 unanswered runs including a 10-run eighth inning by MACU giving the Evangels a series victory in the conference opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mid-America Christian (13-8) scored in each of the first three innings it wasn't enough to overcome the five-run first inning from the Stars as Darian Duhon ripped a three-run homer before Aiden Van Rensum used a two-run double to round out the inning.
Oklahoma City (15-10) extended its lead to 8-4 in the fifth on a Trent Kiraly two-run shot and another run batted in by Van Rensum.
In the eighth, the tides began to turn as MACU sent 18 batters to the plate and scored 10 runs on three bases-loaded walks followed by three straight RBI singles to complete the comeback and win the game 18-8.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City moved to 15-10 overall and dropped its first conference series of the year on Monday.
- The Stars allowed a season-high 18 runs on MACU's 16 hits.
- Tristan Williams extended his hitting streak to 13 straight games after going 1-for-4 with a run scored and his first triple of the season.
- Trent Kiraly moved into second overall in the NAIA home run leaderboard after knocking his 12th homer out of the park in Monday's game. Kiraly notched a hit for the ninth straight game while having six RBIs in the three-game series.
- Darian Duhon collected a team-high three hits in four at-bats while hitting his fourth home run of the year.
- Aiden Van Rensum has a big day at the plate going 2-for-4 while tying a season-high in RBIs with three.
