Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Stars earn biggest win of the year on Jackson's historic senior day performance

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City men's basketball team closed the book on its 2023-24 season with its largest margin of victory on the season as Oklahoma City honored its lone senior Brandon Jackson in the season finale.

On a day that honored Brandon Jackson for his two-year career at OCU the senior put together a historic day in his final game inside Abe Lemons Arena.

Jackson set the program record of 12 three-pointers made in a single game passing Eric Tatum, Tony Terrell and Lou Dunbar who shared the broken record of 11.

The senior put up a career-high 43 points, the most in a game by an OCU player since Dunbar posted a 50-point game back in 2017. Jackson finished his two-year career with 923 points.

Oklahoma capped off its season with a 10-18 overall record and an 8-14 record in the SAC. Despite missing out on the conference tournament, the Stars finished the season on a high note winning its last 5 of 7 games with four straight wins inside its home arena.

The blowout victory started early as Oklahoma City opened the game with a 13-0 lead as Jackson heated up right away scoring nine of the 13 OCU points.

After knocking down seven threes in the first half Jackson had his eyes set on the record coming out of the locker room. Jackson knocked down his 12th three of the day with 4:09 on the clock which put the Stars up by its biggest lead of the day of 40 points while scoring a total of 57 points in the second half.

Oklahoma City scored a season-high 100 points after earning its biggest victory of the year by a 36-point margin.

Parker Jones had a solid day for OCU joining Jackson as the other double-digit scorer with 12 points and five rebounds. Clayton Jewell led the Stars with 12 rebounds while one field goal came away from a double-double.

Avery Jackson scored nine points while hauling in nine rebounds and added a season-high two steals. Jackson finished the year with 421 points, bringing his career total to 954.

Outside of Brandon Jackson, the Stars will return everyone on its roster for the 2024-25 season and will look to use the momentum from the end of this season and carry it on into next year.
