OKLAHOMA CITY – The OCU baseball team saw its losing streak move to six games after dropping Sunday's doubleheader to Doane University by being shutout for the first time this season 7-0 before allowing a season-high 13 runs in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Doane (5-0) got going right away by putting up at least a run in each of the first four innings by getting the game started with three runs in the first frame.
The Tigers took a 7-0 lead after four innings as Oklahoma City (8-5) knocked on the door a couple of times and left the bases loaded in the second and fourth innings failing to score either time.
From the fifth inning on the Stars went without a hit, getting just two runners on base for the remainder of the game.
GAME NOTES
- OCU tallied just four hits, its second-lowest total of the year.
- Hunter Lenochan and Barrett Daniel each tabbed a base hit while Reese Ratchford snapped a six-game hitless streak with a single to right center in the fourth inning.
- Eli Hill made his first appearance of the season getting the start at third base as the freshman notched his first career base hit which followed the Ratchford single.
- The Oklahoma City bats went cold in game one as the Stars went without an extra-base hit and struck out a total of 12 times, the most in a game this season.
- Connor Ferguson took the ball to start game one and went 2.1 innings and gave up six runs, five earned on four hits.
- Frankie Danel III made his first appearance of the season on the bump to finish out the last 1.1 innings. Danel III shined in his pitching debut as the sophomore held the Tigers hitless while striking out two.
- Aiden Alexander suffered a tough day at the plate, striking out four times while breaking his on-base streak of 12 games.
- Joe Osborn led the Tigers with a 2-for-3 day as the only player from Doane to have multiple base hits which included two RBIs and two runs scored.
- Doane starting pitcher Aaron Forrest brought the right stuff by going six shutout innings while allowing four hits and striking out 11 batters.
- OCU suffers its first shutout of the season as the Stars fail to get on the board while leaving nine men on base.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the second straight game, Doane (6-0) got going early by sending 11 batters to the plate in the top half of the second inning where the Tigers took advantage of two errors to help ignite a five-run inning.
- Oklahoma City (8-6) was able to get on the board for the first time of the day thanks to a solo shot by Tristian Williams to left center.
- The Tigers began to rally midway through the game, scoring one run in the fourth, two in the fifth, two in the sixth, and three in the eighth. Doane helped stretch out its lead by a pair of homers, two doubles, and a triple to score 13 runs on the day.
- OCU was able to put two runs on the board in the fifth inning as Hunter Lenochan launched the second Stars home run of the day before Aiden Van Rensum brought in Darian Duhon on a sac fly to right field.
- The Stars added one more run in the sixth as Heath Brown came in for a pinch-hit RBI double to score Barrett Daniel for Oklahoma City's fourth and final run of the ball game.
GAME NOTES
- After opening the season with an 8-0 start the Stars have dropped their last six games with the loss coming to Doane.
- Hunter Lenochan and Tristian Williams provided a home run each giving OCU its first homer since Feb. 9 in the 6-5 win over Concordia.
- Lenochan finished the day by going 2-for-4 while hitting his third double of the year and tacked on his first long ball of the season.
- Tristian Williams put himself second on the team in home runs by knocking his fourth ball out of the park during his 1-for-4 day.
- Darian Duhon joined Lenochan as the only other Star with multiple base hits in four at-bats. Duhon knocked his first double of the season while scoring one run on the day.
- Oklahoma City surrendered its most hits of the season by allowing 15 base knocks from the Tigers as Doane had four guys with multiple base hits.
- OCU tied its season-high in errors by committing four miscues while leaving eight runners on base.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oklahoma City will finish off its long run of home games on Tuesday with a single nine-inning contest against Sterling College slated for a 2 PM first pitch on Denney Crabaugh Field at Jim Wade Stadium.
