OKLAHOMA CITY – The OCU baseball team snatched its largest margin of victory of the season on Tuesday by snapping a six-game losing streak in the 18-3 rout over Sterling College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Oklahoma City (9-6) got started early hanging nine runs on the board after two innings of play on three doubles and then a home run by Trent Kiraly.
Hunter Lenochan and Colin Pelton added home runs in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 14-0
The Stars scored at least one run in each of the first seven innings and took a 17-0 lead over Sterling (7-2) before the Warriors scored three runs in the top half of the seventh inning.
OCU scored its 18th run in the bottom of the seventh as Hunter Brown drove in Heath Brown to finish off the day.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City rattled off 18 runs behind four home runs and six doubles while six Stars racked up multiple hits.
- The Stars win of 15 runs was the largest margin of victory since 2022 when Oklahoma City took down SAGU 21-0 on Apr. 16.
- Trent Kiraly notched his fourth three-hit game of the season in 2024 as the senior launched his team-leading sixth home run while batting in a season-high six RBIs.
- Tristian Williams became the other Star to tack on a three-hit day as the junior went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two doubles.
- Hunter Lenochan knocked one out of the park for the second straight game going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and extended his hitting streak to three games.
- Aiden Alexander hit his first career home run while also stealing two bases and scoring three times.
- Colin Pelton provided a pinch-hit home run, the second long ball of his career coming back in the fifth inning.
- Reese Ratchford made his second start on the mound this season and shut out the Warriors in five innings of work. Ratchford struck out five batters while allowing just three hits.
- The OCU bullpen allowed just three hits in four combined innings Austin Worley, Issac Horstman, and Aiden Van Rensum all through an inning each of shutout ball while each of them tallied a pair of strikeouts.
- With the win, Oklahoma City tied up the all-time series at 8-8 dating back to 2011 after falling twice to the Warriors last season.
- The two teams will meet one more time this season on Apr. 23 as OCU will travel to Sterling for another nine-inning battle at 2 pm.

- Oklahoma City will go away from home for the first time this season as the Stars will play two games on Saturday and one on Sunday against Missouri Baptist, Columbia College, and Central Methodist in Fayette, Mo.
