OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Stars Women's Basketball team put the hammer down on OPSU on Thursday night as four Stars notched double-figures in scoring while holding the Aggies to 28 points on the night.

STAR OF THE SHOW: Another big night for the National Defensive Player of the Week 
Jerney Bennett as the freshman once again filled up the stat line with 13 points, nine rebounds, five blocks and four steals. Bennett tabbed her third consecutive game with double-digit points while reaching a season-high in steals on top of swatting away at least four blocks for the seventh time this season. 
STAT OF THE GAME: Oklahoma City garnered a season-best 21 steals tying the most in a game since having the same number of takeaways last year against Central Christian. The 21 steals is the most since 2017 where the Stars had 24 against Texas College. 
FIRST QUARTER: Oklahoma City opened the quarter with eight straight points behind six consecutive from 
Jerney Bennett. The Aggies got on the board for the first time with 5:32 left to play in the opening period on a 1-of-2 trip from the line while seeing its first field goal come with 3:05 remaining. 
Jerzie Bryant returned to the lineup for the first time since Nov. 18 as the sophomore closed out the quarter with back-to-back layups making it 17-6.
SECOND QUARTER: Oklahoma Panhandle State struggled to find anything to go through in the second quarter as the Aggies were shutout in the final 5:15 of play while being held to just three points in the 10-minute period.

Amaya Gordon split the quarter with seven points apiece both going 3-of-4 from the field as Oklahoma City took a 35-9 lead into the break. 
THIRD QUARTER: The Stars continued to force its hand putting together a 14-0 run where freshman 
Imani Cudjoe supplied back-to-back baskets to cap off the run going up by 38. Once again, OCU's defense turned up allowing just seven points by OPSU while taking its lead all the way up to 40 points as the conclusion of the period. 
FOURTH QUARTER: The final quarter of play was highlighted by freshman guard 
Akajia Handsom who dropped 14 of her career-high 16 points in the period. Handsom cashed in a pair of free throws to give OCU its largest lead of 57 points before the clock ran out with an 82-28 decision. 
GAME NOTES
	- Oklahoma City wins its third games in the last four contests while claiming victory in the previous three conference games moving its overall record to 5-6 along with a 5-2 start to SAC play. 
- OCU racked up its season-high in points scored at 82, surpassing its previous high of 71 in the 19 point win over Nelson back on Nov. 14. 
- The Stars posted more season-highs of 48 rebounds and 14 total assists as three Stars hauled in seven or more rebounds while four players had multiple dimes. 
- Brooke Curry led all scorers with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor while going 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. Curry tied her season-high in scoring while posting her fourth game in a row with multiple threes while picking up her fifth game of the year with three or more threes made. 
- Amaya Gordon moved her double-digit scoring streak to seven straight games with an 11 point night on an efficient  5-of-7 performance from the field. 
- Freshman Akajia Handsom had her first breakout game with a career-high 16 points with 14 of them coming in the final quarter of play. Half of Handsom's points came from the charity stripe going 8-of-12 while shooting 4-of-6 from the floor. 
- Cacie Gorman and Taryn Cottrell combined for 15 rebounds on Thursday evening as Gorman came down with eight while Cottrell grabbed seven to go along with two steals and one made three. 
- Amanda Sene Da Cruz showed out in her Abe Lemons Arena debut leading with a game-high five assists to go along with three steals. 
NEXT TIMEOUT: Oklahoma City will jump back into action on Saturday afternoon against #10 Wayland Baptist at 2:00 PM inside Abe Lemons Arena.
