MCPHERSON, Kan. - The Oklahoma City Women's Basketball team bounced back in a big way on Saturday with a 19 point win over Central Christian.

STAR OF THE SHOW: Cacie Gorman posted her first double-double of the season with season-highs of 14 points and 12 rebounds while dishing out a career-high four assists.
STAT OF THE GAME: Oklahoma City tied its season-high in three-pointers made with five on the day as freshman pairing of
Brooke Curry and
Taryn Cottrell were the two Stars to contribute from beyond the arc on a 50 percent shooting day from downtown.
FIRST QUARTER: Central Christian jumped out to a 9-6 lead before OCU could pull themselves back with a 10-2 run to close out the quarter as freshman
Brooke Curry knocked down two shots from range over three offensive possessions for Oklahoma City.
Amaya Gordon and Curry combined for 12 of the 16 points to help grow the lead while
Raegan Travis pitched by scoring the first two field goals of the game for OCU.
SECOND QUARTER: The Oklahoma City defense turned up in the second quarter holding Central Christian to just six points as the Tigers scored just one basket through the first six and a half minutes of the period. Stars leading scorer
Cacie Gorman provided seven of the 12 OCU points in the quarter as a three-point play from the senior gave OCU ts biggest lead of the first half at 25-14.
THIRD QUARTER: Oklahoma City continued to grow its advantage after
Amaya Gordon opened the second half with the first five points while back-to-back triples from
Taryn Cottrell put the Stars up 16. In the final 1:30 of the quarter Central Christian was held scoreless while
Jerney Bennett finished with the final four points for OCU capping off the quarter with a steal leading to a fastbreak layup just before the horn sounded.
FOURTH QUARTER: OCU notched its largest lead of the day right out of the gate from Curry while being able to cruise through the final 10 minutes of play holding its double-digit lead the rest of the way. Central Christian was shutout in the final 2:39 of the contest as OCU finished the game with four straight points to close things out 68-49.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City snaps its two-game skid by picking up a road win on Saturday to move to 3-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
- OCU tied its largest margin of victory on the season with the 19 point win previously doing so in the 71-52 win over Nelson back on Nov. 14.
- Amaya Gordon tabbed her third consecutive game scoring in double-figures with a game-high 18 points while keeping her block streak alive having a swat in each game this season.
- Freshman from Choctaw Brooke Curry reached double-digits for the second time this season with 13 points while cashing in on three shots from beyond the arc. Curry posts her third game this season with multiple threes as she went 5-7 against Kansas Wesleyan (Nov. 6) and 3-6 against Nelson (Nov. 14).
- Jerney Bennett put up nine points as she saw her double-figure scoring streak of six games come to an end. Bennett hauled in five rebounds on the day while notching multiple steals for the fifth time season.
- Freshman Victoria Ososonya saw action in a season-high of 10 minutes while grabbing her best of four rebounds in the contest.
NEXT TIME OUT: Oklahoma City will return home on Tuesday, Nov. 26 for the final game before Thanksgiving break as the Stars host John Brown inside Abe Lemons Arena at 6:00 PM.
