SEWARD, Neb. - The Oklahoma City women's basketball team dropped a nail biter in the final minute dropping its second game in two day in the Cattle Classic.

STAT OF THE GAME: Oklahoma City had a strong defensive day picking up 12 steals as
Amaya Gordon and
Jerzie Bryant combined for nine of them.
FIRST QUARTER: After falling behind 14-8, the largest deficit of the quarter that OCU faced, the Stars closed out the period on a 6-2 run as
Raegan Travis and
Brooke Curry provided a pair of free throws each that tied things up 16 all at the of the first 10 minutes.
SECOND QUARTER: Jerney Bennett gave OCU its first lead of the contest with the first basket of the second quarter as Oklahoma City was able to hold the lead for the entire 10 minute period holding Dakota State to nine points. Bennett continued shine scoring six points in the quarter as OCU went into the locker room with a two point advantage.
THIRD QUARTER: Once again the Oklahoma City defense stepped up holding the Trojans to nine points yet again as Dakota State was held scoreless for the final four minutes of the quarter.
Amaya Gordon led the OCU defense with three of its five steals in the third period as
Jerzie Bryant led the quarter in scoring with five points while giving Oklahoma City a five point lead after a three-point play heading into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Oklahoma City remained in front for the majority of the quarter taking its biggest lead of the night at seven points with 1:13 remaining. Dakota State heated up at the right time as the Trojans scored 11 points in the final minute of play. Seven of the 11 points came from Dakota State's Tabor Teel as she tied the game with a pair of free throws with 10 seconds to go. A turnover by Bryant gave Dakota State the ball on the final possession making their way to line with no time on the clock as Cierra Watkins sank two fouls shot giving the Trojans the comeback win on Saturday morning.
GAME NOTES
- Amaya Gordon led the night with an efficient 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting while scoring 10 in the fourth quarter while picking up a career-high five steals.
- Jerney Bennett joined Gordon as the other Star to reach double-figures in scoring on 5-of-10 shooting while grabbing six rebounds.
- Raegan Travis led the team with a career-high nine rebounds while scoring seven points by going 3-for-4 from the foul line.
- Oklahoma City went without a three-point basket in Saturday's contest going 0-for-7 from distance while shooting 37.0% (20-54) from the field and 14-for-21 (66.7%) from the line.
NEXT TIME OUT: Oklahoma City will pick up play on Wednesday for its home opener inside Abe Lemons Arena against Kansas Wesleyan.
