OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Stars women's wrestling team narrowly fell to the 7th-ranked Texas Wesleyan Rams, 24-25.

In their first dual match of the 2024-25 season, the Stars unveiled their new lineup, winning five out of ten weight classes. Key victories came in the 110, 117, and 160-pound weight classes.

Avery Ashley and Nadia Alejandres each secured pins, helping the Stars open the night with a three-match winning streak. Additionally, Corin Lowe earned a hard-fought 14-9 decision at 160 pounds.

103 lbs: OCU's #10 Sofia Abramson secured a win by forfeit, giving OCU. 5 - 0
110 lbs: Nadia Alejandres (OCU) defeated Kaitlyn Rodriguez (TXW) with a fall at 2:47. 10 - 0
117 lbs: #6 Avery Ashley (OCU) continued the Stars' momentum, pinning #9 Morgan Johnson (TXW) at 3:45. 15 - 0 
124 lbs: #2 Camille Fournier (TXW), won by fall over OCU's Natalia Posada at 1:02. 15 - 5
131 lbs: #11 Bryce White (OCU) earned a victory by forfeit. 20 - 5
138 lbs: #9 Samantha Barragan (TXW) won by technical fall over #14 Destiny Campbell (OCU) in 2:12 with a score of 12-2. 21 - 9
145 lbs: #12 Jalynn Patino (TXW) defeated Devin Jansing (OCU) with a fall at 1:41. 21 - 14
160 lbs: #9 Corin Lowe (OCU), clinched a 14-9 decision victory over Aubrey Yauger (TXW). 24 - 15
180 lbs: #8 Kaley Rice (TXW) took the win by fall over OCU's Ella Murphy at 1:14. 24 - 20
207 lbs: #20 Abigail Fonseca (TXW) won by forfeit. 24 - 25

The Stars will return to competition at the Missouri Valley Open on November 22-23.
