OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City men's soccer team dropped its first contest of the season on the road at rival Mid-America Christian after two Evangel goals in the final 12 minutes.

How it Happened
Oklahoma City controlled the possession throughout the majority of the first half by getting seven shots off with an attempt from
Jordan Da Costa coming on-goal. In the 18th minute the Stars looked like they had broken through as
Ruben Fahiya footed the ball into the net, however it was called back for offsides taking the goal off the board.
Oklahoma City held MACU to just two shots in the first half before turning around with only two shots in the second half by the Stars with its last attempt in the 64th minute on a header by
Henrique Duarte which was saved by the Evangel goalie. Nearing the final 12 minutes MACU lined up for a free kick where Enzo Nogue sent a perfectly placed ball right by the post where Ian Cupee sent it into the net off of his head for the first goal of the match. MACU added one more for insurance with two minutes to go as Pietro Musso knocked one in off the double assist to put the Stars away 2-0.
Game Notes
- Oklahoma City suffered its first loss of the season moving its record to 8-1-2 and 3-1-1 in SAC play.
- Oklahoma City outshot the Evangels 9-8 as the Stars had two shots on-goal while MACU led with three.
- Three Stars tallied two shots apiece coming from Jordan Da Costa, Thomas Brulay and Jovanny Nsonga while Duarte and Da Costa had the two shots on-goal.
- The two shots on-goal by the Stars was the lowest amount of the 2024 season as OCU was shutout for the first time since Oct. 27, 2023 coming against MACU.
- Tuesday nights match was the first time a Stars opponent has scored multiple goals while the Evangels took the third most shots on the Stars this season.
- Oklahoma City falls in back-to-back years to Mid-America Christian as the loss on Tuesday moves the all-time series record to 10-5-4 in favor of OCU dating to 2007.
