WAXAHACHIE, TEXAS – The Oklahoma City Stars women's basketball team allowed a big second-quarter push from the Lions to help SAGU breakaway to a 76-59 victory over the Stars on Thursday evening.  
Oklahoma City (3-9, 2-4) battled tightly with the Lions throughout the first quarter of play as senior forward 
Amaya Gordon put up 10 of the 14 OCU points.  
Southwestern Assemblies of God (7-4, 4-2) regained control late in the first quarter grabbing the lead once and for all after a go-ahead three by Chanie Chambers to help the Lions close out the first 10 minutes 18-14.  
SAGU used its momentum from the end of the first quarter to put together its biggest period of the night outscoring Oklahoma City 26-13 in the second quarter while putting together a 14-5 run before sending the contest into the halftime break.  
Both teams scored the same number of points in each of the last two quarters as SAGU stretched its lead to as much as 21 points while Oklahoma City got it down to as little as 14 midway through the fourth quarter on a three-point play by 
Ray Osborn.  
Amaya Gordon finished up as the Stars only player to reach double-figures thanks to a 21-point outing to go along with nine rebounds on 9-16 shooting.  
Freshman 
Jerzie Bryant sunk the lone three-pointer for OCU as Bryant finished with nine points and a team-high four assists.
 
Ray Osborn and 
Jazmin Adams both scored seven points each as Osborn went a perfect 3-3 from the charity stripe with three rebounds and two assists. Adams shot an efficient 3-5 from the field in 13 minutes of action.  
Oklahoma City dropped its second consecutive game against SAGU while the Lions snatched only their third win against the Stars 20 total matchups dating back to 2014.  
OCU will have a quick turnaround as the Stars remain on the road taking on UNT-Dallas on Saturday, Jan. 6 in Dallas, Texas at 2 PM.
