About the Stars 

  • Oklahoma City enters Thursday searching for its second conference win after its single SAC victory against Oklahoma Panhandle State 80-78 on Dec. 9.  
  • The Stars come off another close loss as Saturday's contest came down to the wire against Bethel College where the Threshers prevailed with an 80-76 win over OCU. 
  • Avery Jackson comes in as the team's leading scorer with 17.6 PPG and comes off his highest-scoring performance on Saturday as Jackson tied a career high with 32 points.  
  • Freshman Yorgio Golesis and James Cloud have shown great promise in their rookie stints as Golesis broke into the starting lineup in mid-November and has given great production to the Stars offense with 9.5 PPG and earning a season-high 20 points in the win over OPSU. 
  • James Cloud comes off a solid day against Bethel College and will look to replicate that on Thursday as Cloud competed in a season-high 24 minutes of action and scored a season-high seven points while having one of the two made three-pointers for OCU.  
  • Senior Brandon Jackson holds down the top spot as the best free throw shooter in the Sooner Athletic Conference shooting at an 86.0% clip.  
  • The Stars have seen struggles come on the defensive end giving up the second most points in the SAC at 80.6 points per game.  
  • Despite being last in field goal percentage in the conference the Stars sit third in free-throw percentage with both Jacksons holding down the top two spots among league individuals.  

About the Lions 

  • SAGU enters Thursday with an 8-3 overall record and a 4-1 start to conference play with its only loss coming to number three Langston.  
  • SAGU is led by the conference's leading scorer CJ Hall who has been named the SAC player of the week three times already this season. 
  • Hall comes in averaging 24.5 PPG and has reached 30 points or more on four occasions this year. Hall saw his best scoring game come against Texas Wesleyan by netting 33 points and going 14-16 from the foul line.  
  • The Lions currently sit as the top-scoring team in the Sooner Athletic Conference with 86.7 PPG and hold the conference's top spot with the best field goal percentage of 49.2.

  • Oklahoma City and SAGU have met 25 times in the all-time series while SAGU holds a 13-8 edge over the Stars dating back to 2014.
