OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Stars volleyball team extended its winning streak to four games after beating Southwestern Christian 3-0. The win marked the second sweep in the last three games for OCU to help them stay undefeated in conference play.

Set 1
Making the cross-town road trip to Southwestern Christian the Stars came out firing on all cylinders starting the first set with a 5-2 run with a pair of kills by Ruby Kelley and Natalie Adams. With the score tied at seven, the Stars rattled off 13 straight points to take a 20-7 lead on 12 straight serves from Adams. OCU closed out the set on a 5-1 run with kills by Emma Nickerson and Kelley to give the Stars a 25-9 win in the first set.
Set 2
OCU and SCU traded blows back and forth early on in the second set. With the score tied at six the Stars jumped out to a 5-1 run with aces by Michela De Stefano and Riley Winkler to help lead the way. After getting it back to within one the Eagles surrendered another big run to the Stars as OCU scored nine consecutive points on eight straight serves by Adams to give Oklahoma City a 23-13 lead. To end the set Rylee Steward hammered down a kill followed by an attack error from the Eagles to secure a 25-14 victory in the second set.
Set 3
Looking to finish off the three-set sweep OCU took the lead first and never gave it up. An ace from De Stefano and a kill by Rylee Steward gave OCU its biggest lead of the third set at 14-5. The Stars continued to pour it on as Hannah Grundy got in on the action with a kill of her own followed by an attack error on Southwestern Christian to end the set at 25-14 in favor of the Stars to clinch the sweep for OCU as they never trailed in the final set.
Game Notes
- Oklahoma City won in all facets of the match on Friday night with 37 kills to the Eagles 17. The Stars also out-dueled SCU in digs having 46 to their 38. The Stars finished with five blocks to Southwestern Christian's one.
- OCU also led in assists with 33 as SCU only collected 16. The Stars notched a season-high 13 aces in the three-set match to SCU's three.
- Ruby Kelley once again led the match in kills with 10 and fell just one dig shy of another double-double.
- Michela De Stefano had one of her best nights of the season, finishing with seven kills, three aces, and a .412 attacking percentage.
- Rylee Steward finished with the second-most kills in the match with nine and tied for the team-high three blocks with Gabrielle Fjeseth.
- Natalie Adams tallied a game-high 27 assists with a season-high six aces and 11 digs to give Adams a double-double.
- Kaitlyn Dunlap led the match with 16 digs making it her fifth game with 15 or more digs.

Oklahoma City will have a quick turnaround as the Stars will play two matches on Saturday, September 9 in McPherson, Kan. OCU will play back-to-back games starting at 2 PM against Benedictine and then 4 PM against McPherson.
